The Rams bounced back Saturday against the Bucknell Bisons, coming out on top with the final score of 24–16. Luckily for Fordham, junior quarterback Kevin Anderson stepped up again for the second week in a row and had himself a memorable game that put his team in a position to attain victory. It was a close, gritty game for Head Coach Joe Moorhead’s Rams, and their victory was hard-fought.

The team also continued their trend of winning in a close fashion despite making several mistakes. In the first half alone, they allowed a whopping 200 yards of total offense–most of which went to Bucknell running back Matt DelMauro. It appeared from the start that the Rams defense was going to be under assault throughout the course of the game.

Fortunately for the defense, the second half told a different story. After making some crucial adjustments along the defensive line and among the linebacking corps, the Rams were able to effectively shut down the Bucknell running game that had spurned them continuously beforehand. The offense was not so unsuccessful; yet for the majority of the game, acclaimed running back Chase Edmonds struggled.

Despite taking several punishing hits throughout the course of the game, Edmonds was able to hang in to execute the final blow to Bucknell when he took a Kevin Anderson handoff 22 yards to the end zone, following a last-chance Bucknell onside kick. Edmonds’ late game heroics proved to be redemption for his lackluster performance against Colgate in the week prior.

Edmonds undoubtedly played with determination on Saturday, and his number 26 jersey spoke to his integrity as a teammate. Edmonds, who usually adorns the number 22 jersey, wore the jersey of teammate Robbie Cantelli against Bucknell, in wake of Cantelli’s season-ending injury last week against Colgate.

Quarterback Kevin Anderson completed 20 of 27 attempts for a strong 296 yards and two touchdown throws. With the two touchdown passes, Anderson added to his total of 27, which now sits at third-highest in the history of the Fordham Rams quarterbacks.

The Rams now bask in victory with an 8–2 record, and they will hopefully continue on to show their dominance in the Patriot League. They close their 2015 campaign in Washington D.C. against the Georgetown Hoyas next Saturday at 1 p.m.
