[quote_box_center]“Americans are so friendly,” Zoë exclaims after I recognize her American accent at the Oxford Street Lush “I’m like a novelty here, whenever [a staff member] meets an American they call me over and are like, Zoë, they have your accent!” she continues.  Zoë, originally from Southern California, currently lives in Camden and works at the largest Lush store in the world.  “I saw a couple playing with the water for like 30 minutes the other day,” she tells me as she waves her hand in a sink full of Mermaid water—a bath cocktail made when you mix the Sunnyside bubble bar with the Big Blue bath bomb.  Her enthusiasm for the UK was very apparent, although she did miss her sunny Californian days. “I’m so pale here.  I think I’ve reached a new level of pale,” Zoë confesses. Yet, for her, English culture has become a preferred way of life and one of the best perks is the food.  “Have you ever tried Digestives?” Zoë asks, “Because the ones with the caramel are bomb.  It’s like a Twix bar in a biscuit!”   Update: Digestives with caramel are definitely the bomb, but they are also highly addictive.[/quote_box_center]
